Drea Naysayer (Saskatoon) is a non-binary singer songwriter on the Coax Records label. Drea's voice commands attention and they are recognized as a live performer with meteroic power and unforgettable live shows. Blending folk, country, alt-rock, and punk, The Naysayers have lived, performed, and recorded extensively in the Yukon before relocating to the prairies in 2023. The Naysayers music feels like a punch in the gut and a warm embrace at the same time. In a sea of similarity, The Naysayers cut through.
Actor Director (Saskatoon) is a song-writing, producing and performance duo operating in the confluence of electronic, pop, indie rock, folk, punk and hip-hop. An ever-expanding core of genre-fluidity centres on lush cinematic synths, powerful evocative vocals, intricate basslines, and arresting rhythms and syncopation. With widespread musical influences and histories along with careers in theatre, design, and photo/videography, Actor Director is well equipped as a powerhouse of entertainment. With a knack for creating engaging moments unique to every performance, the duo share vocal duties and seamlessly move between instruments and roles.
Catchy pop melodies belie dark undertones and universal lyrical themes, an exploration of existential fears of loneliness, loss and feeling untethered in an increasingly uneasy world. Sonically, the result is monolithic in sound and dense with meaning, merging the sensibilities of traditional indie rock alternative and pop songwriting with the unpredictable entropy and unrestrained experimentation afforded by the limitless possibilities inherent in modern electronic production.
Loud Neighbors (Regina) note "If we are too loud, you're too old." Heavily influenced by the Grunge and Alternative '90s era, their sound is a nostalgic trip back to the good old days. Ian's baritone vocals will definitely serenade you and revive those cherished '90s memories. During the peak of the Covid pandemic in 2021, Loud Neighbors released their first single, "Fire and Water." Now, they are ready to record their next original hit, "Goddess of the Sunrise."
