Sunday, November 16th

Regina Songwriters Group: Melody Writing & Melodic Motifs

The Exchange - Club Side - 2431 8th Ave

7:00pm - 9:00pm

This month, we’ll be putting the focus on melody writing. We’ll start by discussing the basics of melody, then move into more specifics, such as how to pair melody with lyrics, and tips for writing memorable melodies.

We’ll talk about melodic motifs and break down some elements of hit songs to demonstrate melodic concepts found across musical styles. We'll also provide melody-writing exercises for you to try at home.

Following the discussion, we'll have a song share - bring a song you’re working on to share with the group, and other songwriters can provide you with feedback. (More details below.)

-- Time: 7:00-9:00 pm
-- Location: In person at The Club (The Exchange - 2431 8th Ave) and via Zoom.
